Leinster fly-half Felipe Contepomi admits he is disappointed not to have been allowed to play in Argentina’s games against Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers in the next fortnight.

His club side demanded that the Argentinian Rugby Union (UAR) pay Contepomi’s wages in the event of the player picking up an injury – a deal that the UAR were not prepared to accept.

"It’s a pity not to be able to play because I wanted to do so," Contepomi told Ole.

"Both opinions are understandable."

Juan Fernandez Miranda, who plays for Hindu in the Buenos Aires Union Tournament, will replace Contepomi in the squad.
