Laurent Emmanuelli will take a Test-match mentality into Saturday’s French Barbarians clash against Argentina in Biarritz.
Twelve fringe members of Les Bleus’ RBS 6 Nations squad will feature in the match in the south of France.
They will all be looking to make an impression ahead of France’s final two games of the Six Nations, against England and Scotland.
Clermont-Auvergne prop Emmanuelli is one of them, and he insists he is taking the contest seriously, even though he will be turning out in a Baabaas jersey.
"We have the opportunity to express ourselves in the match in front of the selection panel, many spectators and the cameras," said the front-row forward, who is yet to play in the Six Nations.
"It is an interesting game which is going to allow us to know where we are up to after four weeks without playing.
"It is true that there is a big backbone of France squad members in the group. It is still a Baabaas match, but it maybe is a bit of both."
Versatile Agen back Pepito Elhorga has been drafted into the team in place of ill winger Rupeni Caucaunibuca, while an injury to David Auradou sees Rob Linde come into the second row.
Meanwhile, Yannick Jauzion has resumed training with the France squad in Marcoussis.
The star centre has been nursing a thigh injury this week.
