England hooker George Chuter has been ruled out of Saturday’s final World Cup warm-up game against France in Marseille.

The Leicester forward suffered a sprain to his right knee during training in Bath on Wednesday.

He will be replaced in the starting line-up by Bristol’s Mark Regan, who makes his third successive August start.

Chuter joins flanker Lewis Moody (calf muscle) and scrum half Peter Richards (back) on England’s current casualty list three weeks before they start their World Cup defence against the United States in Lens.
