United States wing sensation Ngwenya Takudzwa is on the verge of signing for Biarritz, the French Top 14 side have confirmed.

Zimbabwe-born flyer Takudzwa has not been short of offers since his remarkable displays in the World Cup for the Eagles.

It was thought the 22-year-old, who famously outpaced South Africa star Bryan Habana to score the try of the World Cup, was on his way to England.

But Biarritz claim they are about to secure the signature of Takudzwa, who currently holds amateur status.

"The American winger Ngwenya Takudzwa, who lit up the last World Cup by leaving the world’s best winger Bryan Habana in his wake, should land at Biarritz-Parma airport to sign for BOPB," read a statement posted on club website www.bo-pb.com.

Ngwenya, who also scored against Samoa in the World Cup, has been playing for Dallas Athletic Rugby Club in the United States.
