Rico Gear has entered the Worcester record books – just two games into his Warriors career.

The All Blacks wing, Worcester’s record signing, set a new club record of tries in one European Challenge Cup match during a 66-16 away win against Pool Two opponents GRAN Parma.

Gear’s four-try haul left Worcester on the verge of claiming a quarter-final place as they emphatically preserved their 100 per cent Pool Two record.

The visitors led 31-9 at half-time, and they quickly eased past the half-century after beating Parma 50-0 at Sixways seven days earlier.

Gear’s fellow wing Marcel Garvey added two tries, and there were also touchdowns for promising prospects Chris Pennell and Mike Benjamin ahead of next weekend’s return to Guinness Premiership action and a Madejski Stadium appointment with London Irish.
