Keep it up for full 80 says Flutey

Two-try England hero Riki Flutey is looking to his team-mates to put together ‘a full 80-minute performance’ against Scotland in the final round of the RBS 6 Nations at Twickenham this weekend.

England’s five-try win over the French on Sunday took them to 13 tries in the championship to date and the London Wasps centre made one and scored two. Now he wants more of the same in a sustained performance against the Scots.

Having raced into a 29-0 interval lead last weekend, Flutey’s second try shortly after the re-start took England to 34-0. But the only scores after that were two French tries as the game ended 34-10.

“We take a lot of confidence out of the performance. But now we have to look at the second half and see how we can put together an 80-minute performance,” said Flutey.

“We were confident at half time and we talked about going back out there and doing the same. But we turned the ball over too often.

“It was obvious guys were beginning to understand their roles and responsibilities in attack. The set-piece moves went really well.

“It was nice scoring in the first few minutes and having the crowd right behind us from the word go. That was fantastic – just awesome.”
