Cusiter leads Scots to glory

Chris Cusiter, a 2005 British & Irish Lion, led Scotland A to a 22-12 win over France A in the final of the IRB Nations Cup at the weekend.

And while the Scots were winning a title in Bucharest, Ireland A were blitzing the England Saxons in the Churchill Cup final in Colorado. Their 49-22 victory included six tries.

The Irish Rugby Union will now have to consider adding an extension to their trophy cabinet after a wonderful year. In 2009 they took the RBS Six Nations title, the Triple Crown at international level and saw Leinster win the Heineken cup and Munster capture the Magner League.

It was the boot of Glasgow outside half Ruaridh Jackson that caused the French massive problems in Romania as he kicked 17 points to steer his side home to victory.

England Under 20 also reached the final of the IRB Junior World Championships in Japan, but they were beaten once again by New Zealand in a repeat of the 2008 final.
