Emerging Boks called into main squad

Springbok coach Peter de Villiers is already casting one eye forward to the 2011 Rugby World Cup by adding two young Bulls players to his squad for the third Test against the British & Irish Lions.

Full back Zane Kirchner and flanker Dewald Potgeiter, who captained the Emerging Boks in their 13-13 draw with the Lions, have joined the world champions in training this week ahead of the third Test in Johannesburg.

“They both did very well with the Emerging Boks. We are looking ahead to the Tri Nations and we are building for the 2011 World Cup,” said De Villiers.

“While we are busy with our short term goal we are also putting in place our medium and long term goals, so we can’t be caught with our pants down.”

Sharks skipper Johan Muller has already been called into the squad to provide second row cover in case Bakkies Botha’s appeal against his two week suspension is lost.
