Wallabies ready for Europe

Australia coach Robbie Deans says his side is fully prepared for their European tour despite another loss to New Zealand.

The Wallabies lost out to the All Blacks for the seventh consecutive time on Saturday but Deans insists confidence will not be a factor when his squad arrive in the northern hemisphere this week.

"We’re back playing rugby, which we hadn’t done for two months," said Deans, who enters his second tour of Europe since taking over from John Connolly last year.

"So it’s a good launching pad now for us to push on to the UK.”

That launching pad was actually a 32-19 defeat to their bitter rivals in Tokyo. But, despite the result, the manner of the performance has given Deans hope that his team will record victories over England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales this month.

"We’ve got an exciting opportunity ahead of us now," added Deans.

"This was our last southern hemisphere outing (of the year) and we have a great tour ahead of us, which we’re really looking forward to.

"We’ll be better for this performance."
