Lion could leave Tigers

Former Lions tourist Lewis Moody could be on his way out of Leicester Tigers.

The 2005 Test Lion has admitted that he is considering a move abroad when his Tigers deal runs out at the end of the current campaign.

Moody, who is being tipped by some to take over from Steve Borthwick as England captain for the forthcoming Six Nations, has been at Welford Road his entire career but is now contemplating a switch to France for family reasons.

"There are big decisions to make, the security for your family, planning for the future," Moody told The Times.

"It’s a big decision. I love Leicester.

“I’ve been here since I was a boy of 14 and I’ve been playing in the first team since I was 17. It’s my home, the place I love, and it would be a very difficult place to leave.

"But at some point in your career you have to be selfish and say, ‘You have to do what’s best for your family.’ Sometimes that’s looking at options that are out there.

“We’ll cross that bridge when it comes."
