Henson set to learn Toulon fate

Gavin Henson’s fate at Toulon is set to be revealed today.

The 2005 Lions star met with club president Mourad Boudjellal yesterday following his suspension by the French club.

The ban came after Henson allegedly became involved in a nightclub bust-up with team mates.

Reports in France claimed Henson came to blows with a fellow Toulon player after the Welsh centre criticised club captain Joe Van Niekerk and fellow Lion Jonny Wilkinson.

It has been suggested that Henson may have the remainder of his short-term contract with the Top 14 giants ripped up. Even if that proves not to be the case, it seems unlikely that the 29-year-old will be handed a contract extension.

Henson joined Toulon in February after a brief spell in the Aviva Premiership with Saracens.
