Lions link up with Thomas Pink

The Lions are delighted to announce that Thomas Pink has been appointed official outfitter for the 2013 tour.

A quartet of former Lions – Gareth Edwards, Roger Baird, Richard Hill and Rob Henderson – were at LVMH House this morning to offer valuable insights to Thomas Pink’s creative director, Florence Torrens, on their past Lions official outfits and experiences.

By including these past Lions in the design process, Thomas Pink is ensuring the homes nations’ select squad will be the best-dressed sports team on the planet.

Thomas Pink will provide the finest players of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales with the official formalwear looks for the tour including the emblematic blazer, tie and unique evening wear that epitomizes the British style of the iconic Jermyn Street based shirt maker.

Jonathan Heilbron, Chief Executive of Thomas Pink explained that collaborating with the Lions, who will play in Hong Kong as well as Australia next year, would ensure a wardrobe reflecting shared values of a passion for rugby and a desire for excellence, along with over a century of history and heritage.

“We take huge pride in incorporating the views and opinions of Gareth and other Lions so that items from the official Lions range, which will be in our stores from mid October of this year, will give the public a connection with the players as they do their best against Australia,” said Heilbron.

“Working with the Lions towards making this historic tour a success is an honour for Thomas Pink enabling us to showcase our creativity alongside sporting excellence. The team will be a true marriage of style and substance.”

John Feehan, Chief Executive of the Lions added: “The players’ schedule on tour is a busy one. They have a variety of off pitch engagements. They will need to be well turned out at all times, but also be very comfortable. We have every confidence that such a renowned brand as Thomas Pink understands our values and the particular character of the tour. We are looking forward to working with them.”
