Wallaby centurions

Two Wallabies are set to enter the Super Rugby 100 cap club this weekend.

Both Brumbies hooker Stephen Moore and Waratahs’ wing Drew Mitchell are currently on 99 and poised to reach the milestone.

Wallabies stalwart Moore is now in his tenth season of Super Rugby but is only focussed on securing a victory over the Blues to claim a place in the play-offs

"I've always considered personal milestones occasions you look back at after you retire, they have the potential to take attention and focus away from the closest task at hand which is winning your next game," Moore said.

"This weekend is a massive opportunity for us as a club to move into the finals and have a crack at some of those top teams.

"I've encouraged the younger guys in our squad to take these opportunities. In the last 10 years this has been my best chance at playing finals footy and it's been good for them to realise how special and important a moment like this could be in their careers."

Elsewhere electric wing Mitchell, who has just returned from injury, will also race past the landmark as the Waratahs take on Australian rivals Queensland Reds.

The Reds can still claim a place in the play-offs but Mitchell and the Waratahs are determined to salvage some pride from a disappointing season, in one of Australia’s biggest sporting rivalries.

"It's not about us trying to spoil their year or anything like that," said Mitchell, who started his career with the Reds before a spell at the Force. "I had four years there (with Queensland) and I guess the irony is it's my 100th this weekend and I get to play where it started.

"Their intent will be to go out there and score four tries and it could one of two ways,

"They could at their lethal best, which is a pretty dangerous prospect. They are obviously capable of scoring tries but I think there is a risk there. If they are going out there intent on scoring tries, it might loosen up a little bit.

"We've got enough motivation at the moment to go out there and be up for this game, whether it's the Reds or not."
