North striving for improvements

British & Irish Lions winger George North believes he’s only going to get better at Northampton Saints, claiming he’s still learning on the job.

North, who scored two tries in the Lions’ 2-1 series win over Australia this summer, has impressed in his first season in England so far and scored Saints’ first try in their impressive win over Leinster last time out.

And North believes he is constantly improving in his new surroundings.

“I found it tough, naturally, coming to a new club which has a different way of playing,” he said.

“For me all I can say is it will take a little bit of time to get into it and obviously week by week I’m gaining more information and more knowledge about how we play here and how I can really be most effective for the team.

“It’s just a case of making sure I know my roles every time and making sure I can be as effective as I can when called upon.

“I came to the club because I wanted to improve myself as a player and Northampton said they wanted me here as well. I’ve enjoyed every second I have been here.”
