Hogg vows to help Scotland make amends

British & Irish Lion Stuart Hogg is desperate to help Scotland pick up the pieces after his nation were shut out in a 20-0 loss to England at Murrayfield on Saturday.

The 21-year-old was the youngest player on the Lions tour last summer, scooping up 23 points across five appearances in Australia.

However, the full-back could not inspire Scotland against an England side packed with fellow Tour heroes such as Dan Cole, Owen Farrell and Mako Vunipola

It follows on from Scotland’s defeat to Ireland last weekend and Hogg admits defeat in such disappointing fashion is a bitter pill to swallow.

"We'd talked all week about Scotland v England and it being the biggest game possible,” he said.

“And to have them on our own pitch was a great opportunity for us to put one over on them. It's really frustrating as we've come away with a loss.

“It’s about parking this and then getting on with the Italians away in a couple of weeks’ time.

“It’s all about getting on the horse again and fighting back, showing that we’re capable of winning a game or two.”
