British & Irish Lion Gethin Jenkins admitted he and his Wales teammates had a point to prove after they comfortably saw off France at the Millennium Stadium.
Head coach Warren Gatland had warned some of his squad that they were playing for their international careers after their mauling in Dublin a fortnight ago.
But in front of a packed Cardiff crowd on Friday night, Wales proved too strong for their French counterparts, fellow Lions George North and Sam Warburton crossing for the tries.
And Jenkins, whose destructive performance at loosehead earned him the man of the match award, was delighted with the response shown by his side.
“I suppose it depends on a few other results but we are targeting four wins from five and we'll see how we get on," he said.
“We're a good team and we're nice to get back off the field with a nice win.
“We had a point to prove, it's been a tough two weeks and everyone has just been excited to get back out on the field.
“A lot of harsh words have been spoken, and we had to dig deep together really as a front five, the coaches have given us a bit of a kick up the backside and I thought we performed quite well really.”
