Heaslip: Experience key for European clash

British & Irish Lion Jamie Heaslip admits he will have to draw on all of his experience to help Leinster through their European tie with Toulon on Sunday evening.

The No.8, who appeared in two Tests for the Lions in Australia last summer, is chasing his fifth European trophy with the Irish province.

And as a veteran of two Lions tours and 64 Ireland caps, Heaslip believes he and his side have the nous to triumph at Stade Felix Mayol.

“We've had a lot of good experience in Europe, like going to Harlequins and beating them in a really tight game in that infamous quarter-finals,” he said.

“We have all that experience to call on, but it's about being the best we can be on the day. We know what it's going to take because we've been there and experienced big away games in Europe, especially in France.

“Everyone in this club knows what it takes to go the whole way and win the competition. So we're fully aware of the standard we're going to have to bring to the game.”
