Robinson says Wade can make the difference for England

Former British & Irish Lion Jason Robinson believes 2013 tourist Christian Wade is the one man who can hand England the edge on the wings ahead of the new season.

Wade, 23, was called up as injury cover last year and went on to make his Lions debut against the Brumbies – but an injury-hit season subsequently stalled his progress for Wasps.

But former England wing Robinson, who himself played a role in two Lions tours, is convinced that Wade can be the bedrock of the Red Rose’s back-line for years to come.

“We certainly have the forwards to compete with anybody in world rugby and I just think we (England) need to somehow find a settled back-line and get them playing regularly together – Christian Wade would be part of that for me,” Robinson told The Rugby Paper.

“You look at other teams and you see how they have got numerous people in there who can produce something from nothing and he is one of those players. He has got the ‘wow’ factor and that is what I want to see in a game.”
