Hogg relishing European duel

It’s been described as the biggest game in Glasgow Warriors’ history by head coach Gregor Townsend and British & Irish Lion Stuart Hogg can’t wait to get his teeth stuck back into French giants Toulouse.

The 22-year-old full-back played all 80 minutes as Glasgow lost their latest European clash with Toulouse 19-11, the victory the French outfit’s 100th in continental rugby.

Hogg won’t have to wait long in a bid to turn the tide on Toulouse as they make the trip north to the Scotstoun Stadium this weekend for the return fixture.

And Hogg, who was part of the Lions’ successful tour to Australia last summer, is relishing the chance to get one over Toulouse – adamant a win is Glasgow’s for the taking.

"We get to play them again next week and we'll learn from this," the 22-year-old said. "I know Gregor won't be pleased with the penalty count.

“We pride ourselves on our discipline and we're pretty disappointed. We're a team on the up and we firmly believe we could have won that game, so hopefully we'll do them over next weekend."
