Tipuric delighted to pen new Ospreys deal

British & Irish Lions flanker Justin Tipuric admits he is relishing the chance to focus on his rugby once more after signing a new contract with the Ospreys.

The 25-year-old, who played in the third Test of the victorious British & Irish lions of Australia in 2013, had been linked with a possible move abroad to England or France.

Yet Steve Tandy’s side were able to retain his services, with the Wales international agreeing a three-year deal at the club he first represented in 2009.

And with fellow British & Irish Lions star Dan Lydiate also joining the Welsh region earlier this month, Tipuric is confident the future is bright for the Ospreys.

"I'm just incredibly happy to have sorted this out so that I can focus solely on my rugby," Tipuric said.

"It's very flattering to be linked with the clubs that I have been, but my focus was always on signing a new contract here.

"That's what I always wanted, and that's what I've done.

"We are working hard here to build something for the long term, we have some quality young talent coming through and you get the feeling that something special is coming.

"I'm pleased that I can continue doing my bit and be a part of it."
