North itching for return to action

It has been a frustrating time on the sidelines for British & Irish Lion George North but with the summer months approaching and a World Cup on the horizon the winger is desperate for a return.

The 23-year-old has suffered four head injuries in the last six months and has been stood down from action since March for club side Northampton Saints.

But with the league title up for grabs, not to mention the World Cup this autumn, and the winters months behind him, North is desperate to return to action as soon as possible.

“This is my time of the year, isn’t it,” he told the Telegraph.

“When you dig in through pre-season and then through the winter months of December and January, you want to get to when the weather is better, the pitches quicker and you want to be able to play some good rugby.

“Obviously, again, I have got to take my time with this and get it right.”
