LionsWatch: Wade dazzles as Wasps go try-crazy

Wasps went try-crazy against new-boys Bristol at the Ricoh Arena and Christian Wade was once again in on the action as he didn’t miss an opportunity to show off his dazzling footwork.

The wing – who was called up as injury cover during the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia – grabbed his first try on 38 minutes.

Elliot Daly broke through and fed Tommy Taylor who in turn released Wade, the wing opting to step inside the covering defender instead of turning on the gas to the corner.

But it was his second after the break that really caught the eye – finding a gap in the defence before having the footwork to beat Jordan Williams when one-on-one.

Fellow England international Daly also chipped in with two tries as Wasps ran in ten in total for a 70-22 victory.

His first was somewhat fortunate as a quick line-out saw Danny Cipriani kick towards the corner and while Wade was unable to dot down, the ball ricocheted back into play off the corner flag and Daly was able to touch down.

Daly rounded off the Wasps scoring with their tenth – finishing off following good feet from fellow England man Kyle Eastmond – but it was Wade’s score that still had tongue’s wagging come the final whistle.
