Clubs across Britain and Ireland have been taking part in Learning with the Lions throughout the 2017 Tour. The programme invited clubs to apply for a special pack to help engage players and recruitment efforts.

Built off the Lions ‘All For One’ ethos of Community, Friendship, Integrity, and Respect, the programme was created to bring communities together and inspire a future generation of Lions.

Hundreds of packs have been sent to clubs in all four nations, and clubhouses have been decorated with Lions flags, balloons and posters during special Lions match day events all over Britain and Ireland.

Ballyclare RFC (Ireland), Neath Athletic RFC (Wales), Hamilton RFC (Scotland) and Old Rutlishians RFC (England) were selected with the help of their respective Unions. With thanks to Rhino Rugby, each club will receive Lions rucking and tackling equipment used by the squad during training camps prior to their departure for New Zealand.

Ballyclare High School Director of Rugby and Ballyclare Rugby Club head coach, Mike Orchin-Mckeever commented: “The most important thing to us is to have folks watching rugby together and create a memory for people of all ages – something I’ll never forget that was done for my first Lions experience in 1997.”
