ROLE SUMMARY
The Lions is seeking a bright and motivated accountant to join our finance team and support the Finance Manager and Chief Financial Officer. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, working alongside industry leaders and playing a key role in the success of this iconic rugby brand.
- Fixed Term Contract until 31 December 2025.
- Location: The role will be based in the Lions HQ in Dublin 4. The role will be hybrid with occasional travel to the UK required.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist in the Management of the Finance Function
- Management of the Accounts Payable function including: supplier creation, invoice processing, supplier payments and supplier reconciliation management.
- Management of Accounts Receivable function including: customer creation, customer invoicing, contract management and debt collection.
- Assist with the management of cash including: producing accurate cashflow statements, supplier payments, addition and removal of new users/approvers and creation of bank accounts.
- Assist with the annual audit process from audit open to audit close meeting. Liaise with audit team to resolve queries and produce financial statements.
- Assist with the budget process. Liaise with budget holders to produce ambitious budgets for the financial years.
- Assist with the monthly forecasting with budget holders to ensure accurate forecasts are produced to enable informed Exec decision making.
- Management of taxation returns including, VAT & VIES, RTD, CT, PAYE and 46G returns.
- Support the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Team and Finance Manager by providing key financial information to assist with decision making.
- Update Risk Register to ensure all risks are captured and classified correctly through conversations with the Executive Team and produce reports for Exec and Board meetings.
- Assist with tax planning for tour party and liaise with BIL Tax Advisors where appropriate to obtain the correct tax treatments.
Annual Insurance Renewals
- Liaise with insurance brokers to receive insurance forms before renewals (Renewals on 1 January each year)
- Populate forms and return to brokers as necessary.
- Review quotes and challenge where necessary.
Stakeholder Relationships
- Develop and manage relationships with relevant stakeholders and third parties including: internal employees, suppliers, customers, financial advisors, financial institutions, consultants and agencies.
Governance
- Ensure the highest standards of corporate governance and risk management protocols are adhered to.
- Develop relevant policies as needed and ensure compliance with those policies/mandates.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Qualifications and Expertise
- Must hold an accredited accountancy qualification.
- Have 3+ years experience in a finance department, across a wide variety of finance functions, with relevant training in a large professional services firm meeting this requirement. Must have at least 1 years commercial experience.
- Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

- Strong communication and presentation skills, recognising the important of continuous engagement and the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels, many of whom have no financial background.
- The ability to collaborate with and understand all areas of the business to contribute affectively to the finance function.

- Proactive with a drive to constantly develop and improve all aspects of the finance team, finance systems and the wider business.
