An icon of the game, Mike Gibson is a veteran of five Lions Tours having made his debut in 1966, and continuing on to the 1977 Tour 11 years later.
Gibson racked up a remarkable 68 appearances for the Lions, 67 of which were starts, with the back scoring 22 tries in the famous red jersey.
The Irishman began and ended his Lions career in New Zealand, winning three of his tours, losing two, and winning 12 Test caps.
Gibson was part of the historic 1971 and 1974 Tours, in which the Lions won in New Zealand and then went unbeaten in South
Africa.
After ending his rugby career Gibson became a solicitor, in Belfast, and he continues to play an active role in the rugby community.
In 2011 Gibson was inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame.
