Blair Kinghorn will become a British & Irish Lion for the first time after he was selected for the 2025 Tour to Australia.

A Scotland lynchpin at full-back and a key part of a star-studded Toulouse side at club level, Kinghorn will now have the opportunity to pull on the famous red jersey.

With great speed and a cultured right boot both out of hand and off the tee, Kinghorn debuted for Scotland in 2018 in a memorable 25-13 Calcutta Cup victory and is now a key attacking fulcrum in Gregor Townsend’s side.

Kinghorn has also played wing and fly-half for his country, tallying up 146 points and 16 tries at international level.

He was born in Edinburgh and represented Edinburgh Rugby at U17, U18, and U20 levels before making his debut for the club as an 18-year-old in 2015. He went on to become the youngest player to reach 100 appearances for Edinburgh at age 24.

He ultimately made 138 appearances before moving to his current home, European powerhouse Toulouse, where he has gone from strength to strength.

While living in La Ville Rose, Kinghorn has been a key figure in Toulouse's back-to-back Top 14 titles and their 2023/24 Investec Champions Cup victory.

In 2025, he was nominated for Six Nations Player of the Tournament and set a record for metres gained in a tournament: 580.

Kinghorn also led the tournament in carries (86), line breaks (9), and offloads (13).

He credits his move to Toulouse for his growth as a player in the past year.

Kinghorn said, "I didn't want to sit and be a good player, I wanted to move and become an even better player, become a great player.”

As he prepares for his maiden Tour, many would argue he has done just that.
