Warren Gatland has toured with The British & Irish Lions in 2009 as assistant coach and subsequently as the head coach in 2013 and 2017. He will be the head coach in South Africa becoming only the second person after Sir Ian McGeechan to lead the Lions against Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
