Steve Borthwick played lock for Preston Grasshoppers, Bath Rugby and Saracens, making an impressive 265 English Premiership appearances. During his 16 years in the top flight he captained Bath to a European Challenge Cup triumph in 2008 and also led Saracens to the Premiership title in 2011.

The former Hutton Grammar School rugby pupil represented England Schools, Colts, Under-21 and Saxons and played in 57 Tests for England at lock from 2001-2010, captaining the side 21 times.

He retired from Saracens in 2014 and took up the role of Japan Forwards Coach for the Rugby World Cup. He was appointed Bristol Forwards Coach in November 2015 before joining England the following month.
