Win the First AU2025 Lions Jersey Terms and Conditions
- The Promoter
The promoter is British & Irish Lions DAC of 1st Floor Simmonscourt House, Simmonscourt Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Lions”).
- The competition
2.1. The title of the competition is the ‘Win the First AU2025 Lions Jersey’ competition.
2.2. The first prize is: (i) the first Official AU2025 Lions Replica Jersey (“Prize Jersey”) and (ii) attendance to the Jersey Launch Event in London on Wednesday 6 November 2024 to be presented with the Prize Jersey (“First Prize”).
2.3. The runner up prize is an AU2025 Lions Replica Jersey (“Runner Up Prize”). There are two Runner Up Prizes to be won.
- How to enter
3.1. The competition will run from 12:00 BST on Monday 16 September 2024 (the “Opening Date”) to 23:59 BST on Wednesday 16 October 2024 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.
3.2. All competition entries must be received by the Lions no later than 11:59 on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
3.3. Applications may be made by completing the online form at https://competitions.lionsrugby.com/lionsprizedraw
3.4. The Lions will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are lost, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
3.5. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
3.5. Those entrants that complete the competition survey found here will receive an additional 10 entries into the competition.
- Eligibility
4.1. Competitions are open to all applicants aged 18 or over, worldwide, unless otherwise stated
4.2. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Lions may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
4.3. There is a limit of one entry per person.
- The Prize
5.1. The First Prize winner must be able to attend an in-person launch event on Wednesday 6 November 2024 where they will be presented with the Prize Jersey on stage by a former Lions player and take part in promotional activity as determined by the Lions. Media will be in attendance and by entering this competition, the First Prize winner accepts that they will be involved in official media taken on the day.
5.2. The Runner Up Prizes will be posted out to the winners as soon as is reasonably practicable after they have been contacted by the process set out in clause 6.2 and an acceptable postal address has been provided.
5.3. The prizes do not include travel and accommodation. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment, receiving or enjoyment of the prize are the responsibility of the winner.
5.4. Prizes are subject to availability. There is no cash alternative for the prize. The Lions reserve the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
5.5. The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
- Winners
6.1. Each winner shall be selected at random from all qualifying entries. The Lions reserve the select an alternate winner at random if the Lions determine, in their sole discretion that a winner does not comply with these terms & conditions, or where the Lions have reasonable grounds to believe a winner will not comply with these terms & conditions. The decision of the Lions in all matters is final and binding and no correspondence shall be entered into.
6.2. The Lions will contact each winner personally no later than five days after a winner has been selected by the process set out in clause 6.1 above. Each winner will be contacted by the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry. The Lions will make all reasonable efforts to contact a winner. If a winner cannot be contacted within 14 days of the Lions attempting to do so, the Lions reserve the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant randomly selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
6.3. If a winner is unable to take a prize, due to any personal circumstance beyond their control, the winner must immediately notify the Lions. The Lions may, at their sole discretion, allow a winner to nominate another person to whom the prize can be transferred to and the Lions will use all reasonable endeavours to transfer the prize accordingly. The Lions will not be liable if any part of the prize is unable to be transferred to the person nominated by a winner. The Lions will be able to pick an alternative prize winner at random if they have been unable to contact the original winner.
6.4. The Lions must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award has taken place. To comply with this obligation the Lions will publish the name and county/ suburb of each prize winner in online publicity, emails, or other print or social media.
6.5. If you object to either or both of your name and county being published or made available, please contact the Lions here. In such circumstances, the Lions must still provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority or any other relevant authority on request.
- Data Protection
7.1. The Lions will only process your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. See also conditions 6.4 and 6.5, with regard to the announcement of a winner.
7.2. You have the option to opt in to receive marketing emails from the Lions. If you do not opt in, we will only contact you if you are selected as a winner in order to facilitate fulfilment of the prize. If you choose to opt in, your information shall be securely stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You have the option to unsubscribe from emails at any time.
7.3. You also have the option to opt in to receive communications from Canterbury. If you choose to opt in we will share the data you provide in connection with your entry with Canterbury and your personal information will be processed and used in accordance with Canterbury’s Privacy Policy found here (including for the purposes of direct marketing to you).
- General
8.1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Lions may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
8.2. The Lions reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
8.3. The Lions are not responsible for any third party acts or omissions.
8.4. If any of these terms & conditions are determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then the remaining terms & conditions shall continue in full force and effect
8.5. If for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Lions, any prize is unable to be fulfilled, the Lions will use all reasonable endeavours to make alternative arrangements to ensure that the winner receives a prize of similar value and content to the original prize.
8.6. In relation to the prize, a winner shall not display or publicise any political slogans, homophobic language, images of a lewd or explicitly sexual nature, images containing logos of competitors and overt brand sponsorship or anything else deemed to be ambush marketing or an abuse of the Lions and/or Canterbury content or which is defamatory, obscene, illegal, vulgar, offensive or otherwise unsuitable or infringes others’ rights (including intellectual property rights) or reflects negatively upon the Lions and/or Canterbury. Each entrant agrees and acknowledges that any breach of this clause shall cause significant damage and loss to the Lions and/or Canterbury.
8.7. These terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts of England and Wales.
9.8. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, any social media platform. Entries which do not comply with the terms of use of the relevant social media platform shall not be considered. You are providing your information to the Lions and not to any social media platform. As a participant and/or winner, you will fully release any social media platform on which the competition is posted from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action for personal injury and or damage, theft, or loss suffered in connection with this competition or the use or acceptance of the prize or any portion thereof whatsoever.
