Leicester Tigers outside half Derrick Hougaard is one of five Springboks included in the Namibian Invitational XV to give the Springboks a work out before they face the British & Irish Lions next month.
Hougaard will join full back Jaco van der Westhuizen, wing Tonderai Chavanga and centre Meyer Bosman as the capped players behind the scrum to tackle Peter cde Villier’s South African XV.
He will have the highly rated Sharks scrum half Rory Kolcott feeding him and former Bath centre Frikkie Welsh will join Namibian international Llewellyn Winckler in the threequarter line.
The Invitation XV side will be led by former Bulls and Sharks prop Kees Lensing and will feature Namibia’s 2007 RWC lose forwards Jacques Burger and Jacques Nieuwenhuis. The squad also includes experienced Super 14 players in Duane Vermeulen, Nico Breedt, David de Villiers and Richardt Strauss.
