Hill backs young locks

With excitement ahead of the Lions’ series against the Wallabies building, former Lions hero Richard Hill and Australian legend Michael Lynagh have been debating how they see the second row options for both sides this summer.

Hill, who toured with Britain and Ireland’s elite in 1997, 2001 and 2005, is backing a 21-year-old Englishman and a 23-year-old Scotsman to combine in the boilerhouse as the Lions look to avenge their heartbreaking series defeat Down Under 12 years ago.

Joe Launchbury’s rapid rise to stardom is set to continue according to ex-England and Saracens flanker Hill, with the youngster’s energy, athleticism and a maturity beyond his years giving him the nod alongside Richie Gray in the latest video from Lions supplier Robert Walters.

Lynagh, who faced the tourists back in 1989, predicts who Launchbury and Gray will be up against for the Wallabies but which combination looks stronger to you?

Click here to watch the video and to check out the pair's front row predictions, too.

Michael and Richard’s complete first fifteen predictions will be released over the coming days.
