George North declared himself satisfied after showing why he was one of the British & Irish Lions’ star attractions this summer in Wales’ 40-6 rout of Argentina.

The 21-year-old was the decoy for fellow Lion Mike Phillips’ scintillating breakaway for the first try of the match, before the two combined again as North crashed over the whitewash himself.

Toby Faletau – who played a starring role in the third and decisive Test against Australia – also dotted down while another hero Down Under, Leigh Halfpenny, racked up 20 points off the tee.

And North believes he and his fellow Welsh Lions are clicking into gear at just the right time before taking on Tonga and Australia in their remaining two autumn internationals.

“It was great,” said North. "Last week we had a lot of errors, we tightened up our game to be more accurate and we showed that.

"We didn't start the best last week but it's a massive competition for us, this autumn series, and it's good to get the win.

"It was just a good performance all round, myself included. We played to our strengths and were a lot more accurate."
