The Competition
1. The title of the competition is Lions x SA Rugby Ticket Giveaway competition
2. The prize is a maximum of one (1) entrant to win one (1) pair of tickets (i.e. two (2) tickets) to one (1) of the following fixtures:
A) South Africa vs England on 4th July 2026
B) South Africa vs Scotland 13th July 2026
C) South Africa vs Wales 18th July 2026
Subject to clauses 4.2 and 4.3 of the general terms and conditions for this competition as set out below, the winner of the competition will also be reimbursed up to a maximum of £2,000 (two thousand pounds) for flights and accommodation costs that are paid for by the winner to attend the selected fixture.The total maximum prize value is approximately £2,500 or equivalent in local currency), subject to exchange rate fluctuations
3. The competition will run from 14:00 BST on Thursday 16 April 2026 (the “Opening Date”) to 23:59 BST on Sunday 17 May 2026 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.

General Terms and Conditions
1. The Promoters
1.1 The promoter of this competition is British & Irish Lions DAC of 1st Floor Simmonscourt House, Simmonscourt Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Lions”).
2. How to enter
2.1 All competition entries must be received by the Lions no later than 23:59 BST on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
2.2 The Lions will not accept responsibility for competition entries not received for any reason, including any entries that are lost, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
2.3 By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
3. Eligibility
3.1 The competition is only open to residents in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland or South Africa who are aged 18 years or over, unless otherwise stated.
3.2 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Lions may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
3.3 There is a limit of one (1) entry per person, subject to the following. Those entrants that complete the competition survey (which will be presented following competition entry) will receive an additional ten (10) entries into the competition.
3.4 The following may not enter the competition:
a) employees of the Lions; SA Rugby or any of their respective holding or subsidiary companies;
b) employees of agents or suppliers of the Lions; SA Rugby or any of their respective holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration;
c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
3.5 By entering the competition, you confirm that all information submitted by you is true, current, and complete and that you confirm that you are eligible to enter and claim the prize if you win.
4. The Prize
4.1 The Lions assumes no responsibility and will not be liable for any costs, charges, expenses or arrangements that the winner of the competition may be required to pay or incur at any time in connection with the prize (including, but not limited to, any travel and/or accommodation and/or food expenses which do not form part of the prize). Unless otherwise specified, the prize does not include travel and accommodation. Where travel is required to make use of the prize, the winner is solely responsible for paying for any expenses and making any arrangements not specifically included in the prize. This may include arranging and paying for travel, accommodation and any necessary travel documents, passports and visas.
4.2 Where the prize specifically includes a contribution by the Lions and/or any third party affiliated with the competition towards any expenses or arrangements that are required in connection with the prize (for example, travel or accommodation costs):
a) the winner must book and pay for any necessary arrangements themselves in the first instance;
b) the Lions and/or any third party affiliated with the competition will only be liable to reimburse the winner for any incurred expenses up to the maximum value specified within the prize where such expenses are validly incurred and supported by valid receipts; and
c) reimbursement is subject to prior written approval by the Lions and/or its affiliated partners of the nature and reasonableness of such expenses.
4.3 If any costs or expenses validly incurred as set out in clause 4.2 above are due to be reimbursed to the winner by the Lions and/or any third party affiliated with the competition, the winner acknowledges and agrees that:
a) if any such expenses amount to a value that is less than the maximum value specified within the prize, the Lions and/or any third party affiliated with the competition will only reimburse the amount validly incurred by the winner of the prize (and will not be liable to provide the winner of the prize with any cash or credit value that is equal to the difference between the value of the expenses incurred and the maximum value specified in the prize);
b) if the winner of the competition incurs expenses that exceed the maximum value specified in the prize, the Lions and/or any third party affiliated with the competition will not be liable to reimburse the winner for any costs or expenses that exceed the maximum value specified in the prize;
c) reimbursement will only be made within thirty (30) days of receipt of valid supporting documentation; and
d) no reimbursement will be made where expenses are cancelled, refundable, or reimbursed from any other source.
4.4 Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment, receiving or enjoyment of the prize are the responsibility of the winner. If you are unavailable on the date of the prize, this will not be the Lions’ responsibility, and you will have no recourse to the Lions. In such circumstances your prize will lapse and the Lions reserves the right to redraw the prize.
4.5 Prizes are subject to availability. There is no cash or credit alternative for the prize. The Lions reserve the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
4.6 The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
4.7 The Lions reserves the right in its sole discretion to withhold delivery of the prize until proof of eligibility and/or identity requested by the Lions has been confirmed. If such proof is not produced on request, the Lions may disqualify the entrant from the competition.
5 Winners
5.1 The winner shall be selected at random from all qualifying entries. The Lions reserve the right to select an alternate winner at random if the Lions determine, in their sole discretion, that a winner does not comply with these terms & conditions, or where the Lions have reasonable grounds to believe a winner will not comply with these terms & conditions.
5.2 The decision of the Lions in all matters is final and binding and no correspondence shall be entered into.
5.3 The Lions will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after a winner has been selected by the process set out in clause 5.1 above. Each winner will be contacted by the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry. The Lions will make all reasonable efforts to contact a winner. If a winner cannot be contacted within 14 days of the Lions attempting to do so, the Lions reserve the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant randomly selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
5.4 If a winner is unable to take a prize, due to any personal circumstance beyond their control, the winner must immediately notify the Lions. The Lions may, at their sole discretion, allow a winner to nominate another person to whom the prize can be transferred to and the Lions will use all reasonable endeavours to transfer the prize accordingly. The Lions will not be liable if any part of the prize is unable to be transferred to the person nominated by a winner. The Lions will be able to pick an alternative prize winner at random if they have been unable to contact the original winner.
5.5 The Lions must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award has taken place. To comply with this obligation the Lions will publish the name and county/suburb of each prize winner in online publicity, emails, or other print or social media.
5.6 If you object to either or both of your name and county being published or made available, please contact the Lions here. In such circumstances, the Lions must still provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority or any other relevant authority on request.
6 Limitation of liability
6.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, the Lions, its affiliates, partners, employees, agents or distributors will not, in any circumstances, be responsible or liable to compensate a winner or accept any liability for any claims, loss, damage, theft, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize or entering into this competition except where it is caused by the negligence of the Lions, its affiliates, partners, agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
7. Data Protection
7.1 The Lions will only process your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. See also conditions 5.5 and 5.6, with regard to the announcement of a winner.
7.2 You have the option to opt in to receive marketing emails from the Lions. If you do not opt in, we will only contact you if you are selected as a winner in order to facilitate fulfilment of the prize. If you choose to opt in, your information shall be securely stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You have the option to unsubscribe from emails at any time.
7.3 You may also have the option to opt in to receive communications from one of our affiliated third parties. If you choose to opt in to receive communications from one of our affiliated third parties, we will share the data you provide in connection with your entry with this third party and your personal information will be processed and used in accordance with their Privacy Policy (including for the purposes of direct marketing to you).
7.4 In order to perform its obligations and responsibilities as the Promoter of the competition and facilitate the fulfilment of the prize, the Lions may share the winner’s personal information (including name, contact details and delivery information) with SA Rugby and its designated service providers, agents or contractors involved in the administration and delivery of the prize.
7.5 Such processing is necessary for the performance of the competition and prize fulfilment and will be carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws. SA Rugby will process such personal information in accordance with its privacy policy
8 General
8.1 All entrants must comply with any directions given to them by the Lions and/or its affiliates, partners, employees, agents and distributors in relation to the competition including but not limited to any and all relevant laws, rules and regulations.
8.2 All entrants who enter or attempt to enter the competition in a manner, which in the Lions’ determination, is contrary to these terms and conditions or is unfair, fraudulent or unjust to other entrants or is otherwise not in the spirit of the competition (including without limitation tampering with the operation of the competition, hacking, cheating, deception, or any other unfair playing practices such as intending to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other entrants or the Lions and/or any of their respective agents or representatives), may be rejected from the competition at the Lions' sole discretion.
8.3 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Lions may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
8.4 The Lions reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend the competition (including the prize) without prior notice and for any reason, including (without limitation) in the case of a manifest error. Any changes will be posted either within the competition web page information or these terms and conditions.
8.5 The Lions are not responsible for any third party acts or omissions.
8.6 The Lions cannot guarantee that the services relating to the competition will be free from errors or omissions nor that they will be available uninterrupted and in a fully operating condition. Without limiting this clause, the Lions reserves the right to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the competition in whole or in part, at its sole discretion, if it believes the competition is not capable of being conducted as specified in these terms and conditions or in the event of system failure, maintenance or repair, network issue, a virus, computer bug or unauthorised human intervention or any other cause that is beyond the reasonable control of the Lions that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, impartiality, or normal course of the competition (including, but not limited to the unavailability of the vote, poll, competition or competition entry platform before the closing date, or for strike, lock‐out, labour dispute, illness, act of God, natural disaster, adverse weather conditions, war, riot, civil commotion, accident, epidemic or pandemic, malicious damage, fire, flood and/or storm, compliance with law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, breakdown of plant, machinery or transportation). The Lions are not responsible for any loss or damage caused to you as a result of any of these occurrences. By submitting an entry to the competition, you will be deemed to have agreed to any new or amended terms and conditions.
8.7 If any of these terms & conditions are determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then the remaining terms & conditions shall continue in full force and effect.
8.8 If for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Lions, any prize is unable to be fulfilled, the Lions will use all reasonable endeavours to make alternative arrangements to ensure that the winner receives a prize of similar value and content to the original prize.
8.9 In relation to the prize, a winner shall not display or publicise any political slogans, homophobic language, images of a lewd or explicitly sexual nature, images containing logos of competitors and overt brand sponsorship or anything else deemed to be ambush marketing or an abuse of the Lions content or which is defamatory, obscene, illegal, vulgar, offensive or otherwise unsuitable or infringes others’ rights (including intellectual property rights) or reflects negatively upon the Lions. Each entrant agrees and acknowledges that any breach of this clause shall cause significant damage and loss to the Lions.
8.10 These terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts of England and Wales. To the extent that it may be applicable, this promotion will also be governed by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (South Africa).
8.11 SA Rugby is not the promoter of this competition but acts solely as a fulfilment partner.
8.12 This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, any social media platform. Entries which do not comply with the terms of use of the relevant social media platform shall not be considered. You are providing your information to the Lions and not to any social media platform. As a participant and/or winner, you will fully release any social media platform on which the competition is posted from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action for personal injury and or damage, theft, or loss suffered in connection with this competition or the use or acceptance of the prize or any portion thereof whatsoever.
