Ticket ballot for Test matches on 2021 Tour to South Africa

The best players from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales will join forces once again next year as they attempt to topple the reigning world champions in their own backyard. Warren Gatland’s men will lock horns with the Springboks for the first time since 2009 in the ultimate battle for rugby supremacy over three much-anticipated Test matches. And Lions fans will have a chance to enter a ballot this summer on official Lions channels to apply for a restricted number of tickets for each of the three Tests against South Africa. The chance to pre-register for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will commence on March 31st, 2020, with the Ticket Ballot taking place over two weeks (July 3 – July 17). But the rugby ballot is not the only way to secure tickets for rugby’s ultimate adventure as fans can also guarantee their place on the 2021 Tour with the Lions Priority Access Pass.

The Priority Access Pass is a fully refundable £250 pass that ensures you will be first in the queue to book official fully inclusive travel packages when they go on sale. The 2021 Tour will span the length and breadth of South Africa, visiting some of the most impressive stadiums in world sport and culminating in the three Tests against the Springboks. The Lions could make history on their eight-game Tour, with Gatland’s side set to play in front of the largest-ever crowd for a British & Irish Lions Test in the professional era.

FNB Stadium in Johannesburg will host the first Test on Saturday 24 July and with a capacity of approximately 88,000 spectators, a sell-out crowd would set a new record. The second Test follows a week later at the Cape Town Stadium before the British tourists return to Gauteng for the final Test on Saturday 7 August at Emirates Airline Park. Gatland knows first-hand the challenge posed by the Springboks, having been on the Tour in 2009 as Sir Ian McGeechan’s forwards coach when the Lions were beaten 2-1. And he has the opportunity to create Lions history by becoming the first person to lead Tours to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and remain unbeaten.

It will be an unmissable experience for rugby fans to be part of the remarkable ‘Sea of Red’ that sweeps across each ground and city - so don’t miss out on your chance to be there.
