Alex Corbisiero was called up to join The 2013 British & Irish Lions squad from Argentina, where he was on tour with England, and the prop soon established himself as a key figure.
Born in New York, Corbisiero was brought to Australia to replace the injured loose head prop, Cian Healy and the Englishman made such an impression that he managed to break into the Test side, following the example of compatriots before him like Jerry Guscott in 1989 and Martin Johnson in 1993 who both impressed as injury replacements.
He started the first and third Test victories - a calf injury ruled him out of the second - and was named as man of the match by his head coach Warren Gatland after the third Test mauling in Sydney to seal the series and in which Corbisiero also crossed for a try.
Injuries have hindered Corbisiero's progress since that historic night in Sydney - he missed out on selection for England's 2015 Rugby World Cup and took a break from the sport soon thereafter to refresh the body and mind.
