Winger Alexander Palmer was one of just four internationals in the Combined British team picked to travel to Argentina in 1910.

In total, the team played six matches and came away with a 100 per cent winning record.

This included the historic first test against Argentina, which Palmer started, with the tourists running out 28-3 winners.

For the Argentinians, the test on June 12 represented the establishment of international rugby union as it was the first test in their national team’s history.

Palmer and the Combined British team also went on to beat the Argentinos Navitos 41-10 in their final match.
