Andrew Clinch enjoyed a prolonged career with Leinster, then going on to earn ten caps with Ireland and securing a spot with The British & Irish Lions in their 1896 Tour to South Africa.
A forward, Clinch began his career with Dublin University, but when his playing days were over, he later became president of the Irish Rugby Football Union.
The Irishman played 21 times on the Tour, including in all four Tests against South Africa as the Lions enjoyed a profitable Tour winning the series 3-1.
Clinch earned the last of his Ireland appearances in 1897, five years after making his debut.
