Andrew Ross was a hooker playing for Kilmarnock, with his performances in club rugby sufficient enough to earn him selection for The British & Irish Lions’ Tour to South Africa in 1924.
Earning a handful of caps for his country, the Scot featured in three games on the trip, all Tour matches as he just missed out on breaking into the front row.
Games against Western Province, Western Province Universities and Rhodesia were to be forthcoming, however, all in the period of 12 days before injury curtailed any further matches of his only experience in the famous Lions jersey.
