Arthur ‘Boxer’ Harding made the cut for two Lions squads, heading Down Under to take on Australia and New Zealand both in 1904 and 1908.
Having made his Wales debut in 1902 Harding played a starring role in their Triple Crown success.
A forward with fine footballing skills, Harding kicked six goals over his 30 career appearances for the Lions.
He appeared in all four Tests in 1904 as the Wallabies were defeated but they lost to New Zealand in a one-off clash.
By the time the 1908 Tour came around, Harding – who won 20 caps for Wales in his career – was given the captaincy.
Similarly successful in Australia, although they did not play a Test against the Wallabies, they found the All Blacks a tough nut to crack.
They lost the series 2-0 despite drawing the second Test as Harding again appeared in every Test match for the Lions.
At the end of his international career Harding emigrated to New Zealand and lived there until his death in 1947.
