Bertie Waddell made four appearances for the British & Irish Lions during the 1910 Tour to Argentina as part of the 100th anniversary of the Revolucion de Mayo.

Waddell, born in Glasgow, scored a single try against Buenos Aires as the Lions won all six matches of the Tour – including the hosts first ever Test on June 12, 1910.

Argentina made their debut under the name “The River Plate Rugby Football Union”, with the Lions winning at the Belgrano Athletic Field in Flores 28-3.
