Having not made a single appearance for Wales at the time, Brynmor Williams was selected for the 1977 Tour to New Zealand and made his Lions debut in the first Test of the series.
Williams – who won three Welsh caps throughout his career – featured in the first three Tests against the All Blacks, before having to be replaced after suffering an injury during the third.
He scored his first try in the famous red jersey of the Lions in a 60-9 thrashing of King Country/Wanganui in Taumarunui, before adding one more in each of the matches against Manawatu/Horowhenua and Marlborough/Nelson Bays later in the Tour.
