Part of the famous ‘Pontypool Front Row’ alongside Bobby Windsor and Graham Price, Charlie Faulkner didn’t make his international debut for Wales until the age of 34 when he was part of the Wales team that took on France at the Parc de Princes in January 1975.
Two years later, in 1977, the prop was part of a British & Irish Lions Tour to New Zealand and started three fixtures, including the final game of the tour against Pacific Island Fiji.
Faulkner managed 19 international appearances, scoring a single try, before hanging up his boots in February 1979, ten days before his 38th birthday.
