Scottish centre Chris Rea made ten appearances on the 1971 Lions Tour to New Zealand and scored three tries against S/Mid Canterbury/North Otago, Marlborough/Nelson Bays and Wairarapa/Bush.

The Scot was called up to the Scotland side for their 1968 Test against Australia and won 13 caps for his country, scoring three tries, before departing for New Zealand with the Lions.

His most notable international try came against England as it was the winning try in the Calcutta Cup which earned Scotland their first win over their old rivals at Twickenham in 33 years.

After retiring, Rea became a successful sports journalist and broadcaster before spells as head of marketing for the Marylebone Cricket Club and as communications manager at the IRB.
