Daniel Drysdale was part of the Lions team that toured South Africa in 1924, playing in 13 matches - including all four Tests against the Springboks - and scoring one try.
Educated at Edinburgh University and Oxford University, the Kippin-born full-back played for both universities. He played club rugby for Heriot’s FP and London Scottish, as well as representing the Barbarians.
In 26 Scotland caps Drysdale won one Grand Slam, four Five Nations Championships, four Calcutta Cups and captained his country on 12 occasions.
Drysdale was SRU President from 1951-1952.
