David MacMyn was one of few British & Irish Lions to have Test experience before the 1927 Tour to Argentina, a fact which made him the prime choice for the captaincy role in South America.

The No.8 featured in all four Tests on the triumphant Tour, leading the side in all games as the Lions completed a whitewash, conceding just three points in that time.

Two years previous, MacMyn made his debut for Scotland against France, the first of his 11 caps – ten of which saw him on the winning side.

And his rugby days were not to end on the pitch, remaining in selection after his playing career, while also serving as President of the Scottish Rugby Union between 1958 and 1959.
