Welshman Douglas Marsden-Jones had the honour of wearing the famous Lions jersey on two occasions, but it was his exploits out of the game which earned him recognition in the form of a CBE.
Nominated by Sir Winston Churchill for his efforts in the Second World War, Marsden-Jones was presented his honour by the Queen in 1952, three years before he died.
On the pitch, the lock featured on the 1924 British & Irish Lions Tour to South Africa, playing in the first two Tests among 12 for his trip.
Swansea born, the Welshman was to represent his country on two occasions also, the first of which came in the 1921 Championship against England, facing the touring All Blacks three years later.
