After starting out his rugby career at Abercrave, Eddie Morgan moved to play for Swansea in 1937, and the following year, won his first international cap for Wales against England in the Home Nations Championship.

Later that year, Morgan was selected by the Lions for their Tour to South Africa, and played in 14 matches, including in two Test fixtures against the Springboks.

During their time in South Africa, Morgan scored one try against Rhodesia, and following his return to British shores, won a final cap for Wales in 1939, once more running out against England in the Home Nations Championship.
