Along with his younger brother William, Edward Bromet was one of two siblings who toured South Africa in 1891 with the Lions.

An English forward, Bromet won two Blues while at Cambridge University, and then featured in 14 games on the Tour to South Africa.

He played in two of the three Tests, as the Lions returned home unbeaten, and finished the Tour with ten tries in all.

His highlight came against Pietermaritzburg when he scored a hat-trick in a 25-0 win.

On his return home, Bromet worked as a surgeon, while he was also a captain in the Royal Army Medical Corps during World War One.
