Ernie Michie made his Scotland debut in 1954 against France at Murrayfield, and went on to amass a total of 15 international appearances between then and 1957.
The year after first pulling on a Scotland jersey, Michie was selected for the 1955 Lions Tour to South Africa as a lock, but didn’t make an appearance in any of the Test matches against the Springboks.
He did however play in 11 warm-up matches on the Tour, scoring three points against East Africa in Nairobi in what was the final game of the tourists’ time in South Africa.
