Tighthead prop Euan Murray was one of only two Scotland players originally included by Ian McGeechan in the squad to tour South Africa in 2009, along with Nathan Hines - though Mike Blair and Ross Ford were later additions as injury replacements.
Murray played in four matches against provincial teams, starting twice.
But he was forced to withdraw from the Tour after spraining his ankle against the Southern Kings just four days before the first Test and was replaced by Ireland's John Hayes.
The front-row is a qualified vet and, since 2009, has not played on Sundays on religious grounds. He retired from international rugby in 2015.
